What should I do if my card is not recycled?

You can cut out the card if the bank doesn't recycle it.But remember a few key points:

  1. Confirm with the bank and cancel the card completely.
  2. The back magnetic strip should be cut completely: cut completely from left to right.A single cut in the middle is useless. Personal information can still be read.
  3. Personal signature, cardholder's name part to be painted or cut out separately, throw away.
  4. The card number part had better also cut open.
  5. If it is PBOC 2.0 IC card (with both magnetic strip and contact IC card), it needs to destroy IC chip at the same time


 As for the following schemes:

  • Burn off card: the PVC material of magnetic card adds flame retardant commonly, so combustion has certain problem.
  • Strong magnet degaussing: at present, there is a widely used magnetic card technology, called "strong anti-magnetic".It has certain protective ability to magnetic field, so it is not safe.
